Quick start

1. Pick a shape. Left, Picture tab, Shape. Or press Auto or Shuffle under the screen.
2. Play with it. Oscillator tab knobs; Flip, Turn, Swing under the screen; drag the screen.
3. Add words or a picture. Text, Emoji, Logo, Image, or just speak with Enable mic.
4. Colour it. Right, Colour tab: pick a colour or one of 16 preset palettes.
5. Photograph it. Filters tab: frame, border, film. Then Expose photo.

The screen

• Dragsideways spins, up and down rotates, with Shift tilts. Works on words and pictures too
• Tapstrikes the figure
• Drawpress Draw, then choose Solo (a blank screen with just the grid and frame: your drawing alone) or Mix (the figure, words or picture stay on the screen, and you draw over the top while you keep talking). Draw with the mouse or a finger and choose the pen size. Each stroke joins the shape the moment you lift the pen, and it holds its shape exactly as drawn; then mess it up with the oscillators (turn Warp, Sweep, Modulate, Blend). Every stroke keeps the colour you drew it in: pick a swatch for the next one. Tidy turns wobbly circles, ellipses, triangles, squares, rectangles and lines into perfect ones. The pen, Tidy, Undo, Clear and Done sit in the black margin above the frame. Works in full screen too (the pencil in the top strip)

Picture tab

• Shape · Text · Emoji · Logo · Imagetoggles; orange is on, press again to clear. Shape, Emoji and Logo share one space

• Speak | Beatsspeak to draw your words, or let beats move the figure; both can be on. Enable mic switches the microphone on; ⚙ for tab audio and sensitivity

Under the screen

• Shapeprevious, next, Shuffle, Auto, and the Auto time knob (how long each shape stays and how fast it melts on)
• MotionFlip, Turn, Swing, Steady, speed. Reset motion stops spins and effects only; Reset all restores the basic figure
• Viewzoom, and an effect (Trails, Glitch, Melt, VHS and more)
• CameraIntensity, Focus, Shutter, Lens, Layers (stacked on one image), Photos (separate images); Sync lock holds the figure still; Crisp sharpens
• CaptureExpose photo, Snap (saves at once), Record (video; GIF in the result)

Look and output

• Colourcustom colour picker, 16 preset palettes, and the colour-filter wheel with its motor
• Filtersframe, border (Polaroid and more), 15 films that also set the camera and colour they suit, Live look, Grid, and Darkroom develop: the picture comes up out of the red as it exposes
